How To Draw Manga

I just got a new book in the How To Draw Manga series, the Making Anime one. I have had a flick through and it looks quite complicated but i'm sure I will get it eventually. I have found the How To Draw Manga books very helpful so far, as has my host's sister.

Fushigi Yugi

A girl called Miaka Yuki and her friend Yui are sucked into a book called 'The universe of the four gods'. They are attacked but rescued by a young man called Tamahome. They make it back home but Miaka ends up going back in again. Yui goes after her to try and save her but is attacked. Miaka meets the emperor and he declares that she is the priestess of Suzaku, the god that their country worships. Being the priestess means that if she gathers the seven celestial warriors of Suzaku together she will be granted three wishes. The emperor asks that one of the wishes be used to protect his kingdom from a neighbouring country. Unfortunately Yui was rescued by a man from this other country and has now become their priestess. Yui blames Miaka for her attack and says that she now considers her the enemy. The story follows Miaka as she struggles to save both her new friends and her best friend Yui.

Yu-Gi-Oh

Yu-Gi-Oh follows the adventures of a boy called Yugi who shares his body with the five thousand year old spirit of an Egyptian pharoah named Yami. With the help of his friends Yugi battles bad guys in a game called Duel Monsters.

Fruits Basket

I'm bored so I am going to write a short summary for some of my favourite Anime and Manga series' starting with Fruits Basket.

A girl called Tohru Honda loses her mother in a car accident. She doesn't want to be a burden on her grandfather so she starts living in a tent in the woods. One morning she notices a house not far from her tent. She goes to investigate and finds that Yuki Sohma, the high school prince, lives there with his cousin Shigure. They find out that she has been living in a tent and invite her to come and live with them as their maid. She accepts. Not long after she moves in she meets another Sohma, Kyo. A small scuffle results in Tohru finding out that the Sohma family is cursed. When hugged by someone of the oppposite gender they turn into one of the twelve animals of the zodiac. The series follows Tohru as she meets more and more members of the zodiac.

I am currently in the process of designing a website. It will contain information, pictures, fiction and videos relating to my favourite Anime and Manga series'. I hope to have it up and running within the next few months. Baring in mind I don't really have much free time what with plotting world domination and all.

Is Akito a girl in the Manga?

I have been reading about the Fruits Basket manga on the internet and a lot of people say that Akito is actually a girl. I would be grateful if someone could tell me if this is true.

I thought people might get more of an idea of what i'm like if they had a picture to refer to. So here you go. Of course this is my true form. My host did not wish for her picture to be displayed.

I'm always keen to start new writing projects so if anyone out there has any suggestions for a good Yu-Gi-Oh story it would be much appreciated.

AMV's

My host's sister is really into making Anime Music Videos at the moment. I've had a go myself but the results have been pretty laughable. I just can't be arsed to sit there timing clips and straining to here the lyrics of the songs. I get about half way then just stick any old clips on the end. I much prefer writing, putting my favourite characters in amusing situations with the power of the humble word. I can't help but feel it's a little pointless though as my host's sister is the only one who ever actually reads anything that I come up with.

Fushigi Yugi

I am currently downloading the anime series for Fushigi Yugi. I've read up to book ten and i've found it to be rather funny. I have no idea if the anime is any good but i don't see how they can screw it up too badly.
